SALON UPDATE

September 2024

Hi Client-Fam,

I Hope Everyone Is Doing Well :)

There are some Major Updates that I need to go over with everyone. This update is a compilation of what I sent out in August, and it now includes September.

So please read all of it❤️

August Update:

As you know, my health has been a major issue since Covid in Dec. '23, Long Haul Covid, and Epstein Barr in Mar. '24.

It has been a very long recovery that I have been fighting for, every second of every day, for months nonstop.

Every week I work in the salon, is another week I come home sick with something; the average human carries 5 viruses on them (asymptomatically). And my immune system is so compromised that it is unable to handle it, because I'm getting sick even through my mask.

Back in July, I had an Epstein Barr relapse. I also had another bout with Covid.

Mentally and physically, I am beyond exhausted.

I will be doing literally everything I can to prevent both of these things from happening again.

A lot of people don't realize that we are in a massive Covid Outbreak that is rivaling 2022... and another new strain is already out there... again.

I work in very close proximity to everyone's faces, and I'll need everyone to wear a mask when I'm directly in front of you and at the shampoo bowl...until my immune system can make a full recovery. A box of masks will be placed on the shelf in front of the chair.

I will also be wearing my face shield as I work in front of you. While I may look totally ridiculous, I will do what I must to save my career as a hairdresser.

September Update:

I went to my doctor to have my bloodwork done, and while my EBV numbers have gone up a few points since the relapse, I am also finally starting to develop some antibodies in the third (last) phase.

This does not mean that I'm out of the woods at all.

Over this Labor Day time off, I tried to boost my immune system by catching some sun and walking on the treadmill.

I was initially feeling pretty good, but by day four, I had developed a terrible reaction to the sun; which led to a rash on my legs and knees and an attack of my soft tissue around both of my knees. This type of reaction to the sun can happen with EBV.

It was disheartening to say the least. I've been laid up with bags of ice to get the swelling to go down. I have cried so much over this, it's so defeating.

I am reliant upon controlling the inflammation in my body during the day with over 30 supplements, just so I can continue feeling ok enough to work, and more importantly, to be able to sleep at night. Because I'm far from being over these symptoms, I will need to make changes to my schedule for the foreseeable future.

Working late Monday Evenings has been too hard on my body and I won't be able to do the 6:30 appointments anymore. I can't get control of my inflammation until around 1 or 2am on those nights and I just can't do it anymore. For my Fam that has those slots, please text me with which days (Fri, Sat, Sun) and times (morning or afternoon) will work best💕 I am really sorry for the inconvenience😔

This year has literally been The Hardest Year Of My Life and I am so thankful for your love and support, it means the world to me. More than you can possibly know.

I appreciate you all so much, and I am so thankful for you being in my life, and being so amazing to me all these years. I love you with all my heart XOXO
